It is no longer a week-long research project involving five different documentation wikis.

Self-service capabilities mean I can provision what I need, when I need it. No more waiting for infrastructure tickets to be picked up by another team. This unblocks me and speeds up delivery radically.

3. Focus on What Matters

The entire point of Platform Engineering is to create a better Developer Experience (DX). By abstracting away the underlying complexity of Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS, the platform team lets me focus on what I was actually hired to do: architecting and building great software.
